Like all parishes, St. Luke's relies on various specialised groups to help us fulfil our mission.  The main groups administered by St. Luke's PCC include:

  • GENESIS -  for children from ages 2 - 11,  helping explore faith through craft, music, drama and friendship with a Bible basis, normally meeting from 10-11am every Sunday apart from the 3rd Sunday of the month: contact Fiona Pull√© tel. 537796.
  • MIDWEEK STUDY GROUP - an informal Bible study group, which meets twice a month on Wednesday evenings for an hour or so from 7pm in the Church Hall - contact the Vicar tel. 533124.

  • HOUSE GROUP - another informal Bible study group, this time normally meeting twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Monday evenings from 7.45 to about 9.45pm, hosted in the home of Steph and Stephen Haigh, 7 Portree Drive - contact Stephen Haigh tel. 760359.

  • PRAYER NETWORK - embracing all Church members - contact Judith Hall tel.  535497.

  • MOTHERS' UNION - St Luke's Branch meets in two groups on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday evening each month - contact Carole Elliott tel. 533882 or Dorothy Wood tel. 533704.
  • SOCIAL COMMITTEE - meets as required to organise parish social events and is always looking for new recruits - contact Carole Elliott tel. 533882

Various members of St. Luke's also provide their time and talents to support ecumenical groups involving Christians from the other local churches.  These groups are independent of, and not administered by, St. Luke's PCC.  They include:

  • CHRISTIAN COMMUNICARE - independent service group shared with Christians from other Churches in Holmes Chapel - contact Anita & Dennis Eborall tel. 532407

  • CHRISTIAN AID - the  local committee working to support Christian Aid in the Holmes Chapel area - contact Margaret Thompson
